What would you say if I told you
There's an angel standing still
Waiting straight up above you
As you try to climb that hill.

Hands outstretched and steady
Wings strong and true
Ready to hold and comfort
But if you only knew.

The loves there for the taking
and not for just this time
The love is never ending
And I think that you will find
The circle of love extended
Grows more and more with time.

May God's pure heart protect you
From the horror of your mind
The pain and hurt is blinding,
Feelings ripped away,
You will never forget the loved ones
You lost that September day.

It only races through your head
I could have another day
To tell him that I love him
And its gonna be okay.
God's plan for us is heavy
And sometimes we don't know
Why our loved ones suffered
Why the darkness seems to grow.

All I can tell you and the reason
I wrote this song
There's a daily battle growing
And the struggle may be long.

So we all need to stick together
We all need to say a prayer
For those lost for whom we care
In our eyes you are heroes
True in every way
Thank you and God bless you
We will miss you every day.

So maybe if you look hard enough
You'll see that angel standing still
