Something Real

Where do I go from here?
I read the directions
But they aren't clear.
I stand in the rain
And watch as planes
Pass by in that night.
Tattooed pictures of you
Clutter up my mind
Collecting cobwebs
Along the way.

Show me something real
Something I can feel
With out any pain.
I try and I try
To play this game
But it's only in vain
Cause the rules
Always seem to change.

People push your buttons
As if you're on cue
And like a puppet
I always play the fool
Cause I try to act so cool
When I don't know what to say
And I'm scared.

I wonder where you are
And if you even care
You chased away
The monsters in my dreams.
You packed up and left
Didn't shed one tear.
Can't believe you're gone
Your love seemed so sincere.

Now my minds wandering out of control
I'm feeling smooshed,
Lost and insecure
Because I know I have
Such a long way to go.

Show me something real
Something I can feel
That is true.
Cause I've tried to play
This game and I feel
So ashamed because I
Actually believed in you.
